Helping My Child with Their Science Fair Project

I’ll be the first to admit that I am a bit of a science geek. For as long as I can remember, the world of science has intrigued me and shaped the way I see things. It has made me very curious about finding out how things came to be and how we can interact with the world around us. So, when I had my first child, it should come as no surprise that I instilled the same love of science that I have in him. For example, today we are working on his science fair project.
Now, since he is in Grade 4, we have been trying a bit harder to come up with a unique project. We really wanted to create something special that would wow the judges at the event. This means that any of the silly and simple experiments (like a volcano) were out as we needed something that no one else would come up with.
Since the science fair hasn’t happened yet, I am not going to reveal what we are working on right now just in case there are some prying eyes trying to figure out what we are doing. Needless to say it should be a showstopper, and with the pop up displays that we have been working on, I am sure that he will do very well.
But we’ll have to be patient and wait and see how he places as the fair is in just a little more than a week. I am hoping that he does very well and then he can compete in the city science fair in the fall, which would be great. I will try to post some pictures at a later date of the experiment and his display. Based on what we have done so far, I think it will be hard to top this experiment next year. Wish him luck!
